The ‘Miraculous Ladybug‘ series is at the end of season five, and it revealed so many things to us. Adrien and Marinette are currently (finally) together, but some people are still against their love – Adrien’s father, Gabriel Agreste, and Chloé Bourgeois, one of their classmates. The main topic of this article is Chloé Bourgeois, the secondary antagonist of Marinette and Adrien, who consistently tries to make everyone miserable around her. In this article, we will discuss if Chloé Bourgeois died in the ‘Miraculous Ladybug’ series and what exactly happened to her.

Chloé Bourgeois is well and alive after the recent episode of the Miraculous Ladybug series. Her teacher, Miss Bustier, punished her, and her mother, Audrey, decided to take her back to New York after she used her position as the “mayor of Paris” to make everyone miserable around her, especially Ladybug and Cat Noir. The actions and her wrongdoings are finally paid off in the episode “Revolution,” when Chloé uses the position of power to propel her own and (unknowingly) Monarch’s agenda.

Chloé Bourgeois is far from a pleasant person in the ‘Miraculous Ladybug’ show, and only her teachers and family showcase some version of love and compassion for the girl. She got punished severely at the end of season five; we will discuss it in more detail in this article. If you’re interested, stay with us until the end.

Who is Chloé Bourgeois?

Let’s discuss Chloé Bourgeois briefly before we start discussing her fate in the ‘Miraculous Ladybug’ show. Chloé is a major antagonist in the Miraculous Ladybug show, particularly for Marinette.

Chloé Bourgeois is the daughter of André Bourgeois, the mayor of Paris, and Audrey Bourgeois, the famous fashion critic who only wants perfection. Audrey is an interesting character since she is considered “one of the harshest fashion critics in the world” – of course, her daughter inherited her bossy behavior.

Chloé is in place of power at the end of season five.

She is far from a pleasant person and thinks she’s the best thing that ever lived. Chloé’s ego is massive, which we see many times throughout the show, but as closer we get towards the fourth and fifth seasons, we see Chloé becoming a central villain of the show, including Gabriel Agreste as Hawk Moth, Monarch, and many other Miraculous villains.

Even her classmates cannot stand her, apart from Lila, who is even worse than her – it’s revealed that Lila is mostly the mastermind behind pranks and plans to “destroy” Marinette, especially when she starts working for Hawk Moth.

Nevertheless, despite Lila’s influences, Chloé isn’t better, and she goes really hard on her attempts to sabotage Marinette. It’s indicated that Chloé simply cannot stand Marinette because she is envious – of course, the classic antagonist trait that we see in the fictional media.

Chloé started as the so-called anti-hero in the show, which indicated that her role would become even bigger in Ladybug and Cat Noir’s lives. Interestingly enough, Chloé got her hands on the Bee Miraculous, which she used to occasionally help Ladybug and Cat Noir as the Queen Bee – mostly when major threats occurred to Paris citizens.

This “gig” slowly but surely dies down when Ladybug stops calling Queen Bee for help, leading to Chloé becoming more envious and insecure. Queen Bee eventually joins the villains’ side, with Hawk Moth and others, and ultimately becomes the major antagonist to Ladybug and Cat Noir.

Chloé’s turning point stems from her adoration for Ladybug (ironic, right) and the fact that the superhero didn’t give her the attention she sought. Of course, Gabriel Agreste uses this situation to turn the girl even more against Ladybug and Cat Noir and use her to accumulate all Miraculouses.

Now Monarch (formerly Hawk Moth and Shadow Moth) uses Chloé for his evil deeds, and the whole thing escalates in season five. Chloé’s “power” over her classmates is weaker” and everyone she wronged team up to get back at her. Chloé always had the upper hand because she was rich, popular, and intimidating, but seeing Marinette stand up to her rival inspires her classmates to do the same.

In one particular episode of season five, titled “Deflagration,” her younger sister Zoé exposes her in front of the whole class and embarrasses her, which leads to her willingly being akumatized by the villain, Sole Destroyer.

Toward the end of season five, Chloé is caught with Lila forging classmates’ study forms and falsely accuses Marinette of embarrassing and expelling her from school. The plan fails after the rest of the classmates turn back on the evil girls and uncover the truth. Lila is expelled from school, while Chloé is closely observed by her head teacher Miss Bustier.

The end of season five really puts her in a position of power, as her father, the mayor of Paris, is wrongfully accused by Gabriel Agreste of being unable to lead the city. He gets fired, and somehow, with the help of Gabriel, becomes the new Mayor of Paris, using her newfound power to “crush” her enemies once and for all – especially Ladybug and Cat Noir.

Chloé gets akumatized, but she is not dead

After Gabriel makes sure Chloé (temporarily) takes over as the Mayor of Paris, he uses her to get a hold of Miraculouses held by Ladybug and Cat Noir. Chloé uses her newfound power to outlaw Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Monarch.

The police robots are patrolling the city, catching anyone against Chloé’s will, and the superheroes are concerned. However, we also discover that even with her power, Chloé is manipulated by Cerise, formerly Lila, whose origins become even more mysterious.

Nevertheless, while Chloé is “wilding out” in Paris, Adrien struggles with knowing that his father wants to take him to London, away from his friends and girlfriend.

Marinette tells Chloé off.

Chloé gets akumatized by Queen Mayor and uses her powers to capture Marinette and her family. The duo finds a way to escape the maze prison and go to confront Queen Mayor, who announces that elections are abolished, and she will remain the Parisian mayor.

Ladybug, Cat Noir, and the citizens of Paris stop Queen Mayor, who loses her powers and reverts to Chloé. André promises to superheroes he will make sure his daughter is suitably punished. Chloé actually tries to humiliate Marinette one last time by calling her and mocking her for Adrien’s departure to London, but the secret superhero tells her off and truly snaps at her for every wrongdoing.

Chloé is upset and realizes she truly doesn’t have anything left. She is last seen leaving for New York with her disappointed mother, and since then, we never saw her in the Miraculous Ladybug show – she is still alive.

The Miraculous Ladybug season five finale is epic, so definitely check it out since it reminds us of some major comic book events from Marvel or DC.
