Over the years, we at Fiction Horizon have written about many characters from the Naruto and Boruto series. Most of them are well-known names, even for those who are not fans of the series, and this article will be dedicated to one such important character, namely – Himawari Uzumaki, Naruto’s and Hinata’s daughter, as well as Boruto’s sister. Fans of the series might already know that we will talk about Himawari Uzumaki, as we will tell you whether Himawari is still alive in Boruto and what his story in the franchise is.

Himawari Uzumaki is a pivotal character in the Boruto series. As Naruto’s daughter and Boruto’s sister, she has been in the spotlight and has had an important role in several arcs, showing us how she has grown as a character and as a kunoichi. As of the current arc, she is alive and well in Boruto.

The rest of this article is going to, of course, focus on Himawari Uzumaki and her story in Boruto. We will elaborate on what happened to her in the series and give you some additional answers to related questions concerning Himawari. We must warn you that there will be a lot of spoilers ahead, so if you’re not fully up-to-date with the story, you should be careful how you approach the text.

Himawari is alive and well in Boruto

Himawari Uzumaki is a girl from Konohagakure, the daughter of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyūga and the sister of Boruto Uzumaki. Like her older brother, she is equally a member of the Uzumaki and Hyūga clans. She does not attend Ninja Academy in the epilogue. Himawari is a kind-hearted and bright girl. She is sensitive and curious, as she asks if Neji likes the sunflowers, and seems very fond of her older brother Boruto, wanting him by her side as she visits the cemetery with her mother. She seems mature and responsible for her age – helping her mother around the house and, unlike her brother, showing understanding and patience when her father is constantly absent. Her loving side is shown when she gently nudges her father to wake him up on the day of his Hokage inauguration.

However, she can also show other sides of herself, which testify to her temperament. If provoked enough, she shows a rather intimidating, almost frightening side of herself. Here she resembles her paternal grandmother – even her older brother takes flight in such a situation and hides from her. Himawari and her mother visit the Konohagakure cemetery in the epilogue to bring sunflowers to Neji’s grave. There, she asks her mother if he likes them, and Hinata says yes since they have the same name as her daughter.

Himawari27s Ninja Trial Session

On her birthday, Himawari and her mother tidied up Naruto’s office when she found her father’s old torn jacket and showed it to her mother; Hinata smiled. Later, they met up with Boruto’s teammates in the village, and Himawari excitedly told him that they had to hurry home for her birthday. At night, Naruto could not return home to celebrate his daughter’s birthday, so he sent his clone, which disappeared after some time and dropped the birthday cake. This angered Boruto, who had previously warned Naruto not to miss the party, and Himawari herself became less upset than her brother. When Boruto returned home from the second round of the Chūnin Exams, Himawari excitedly congratulated him.

Later, Himawari attended the Chūnin Exams’ final round to witness Boruto battle Shikadai along with her mother, Hinata. Even though Boruto was disqualified for cheating, she was ecstatic when he won the contest. Hinata was mute and simply hugged her without responding when Himawari asked his mother whether Boruto had done anything wrong. She escaped from the arena as Momoshiki and Kinshiki unexpectedly came and stormed the arena. Himawari worriedly waited at her mother’s bedside while Sakura healed her after the assault in which she was hurt while defending Naruto.

Later, Himawari is seen having breakfast with her family once the conflict ends. As Naruto and Boruto were ready to leave after eating, she packed Naruto his lunch and reminded him not to forget it before leaving the house. Later, Himawari played a major role in protecting a miniature Shukaku, the one-tail, with whom she became friends while caring for him, as he was in a small cup. She did not play a major role in later arcs up until the Kawaki Arc, where she once again played a bigger role in the story.

Later, when Kawaki, a former potential weapon, appeared, Naruto chose to accept the mystery youngster with unique skills as a village guest and allowed him to live with them after Boruto and his team returned from their assignment. Kawaki was interested in Himawari’s explanation of how father and son respect each other using the Seal of Reconciliation. Later, as Kawaki toiled to mend Himawari’s vase, which had been smashed at the start of the arc, she gleefully declared that he could simply buy a new one and not worry about it anymore. When Boruto eventually showed up there, he agreed to take Kawaki up on his offer to learn more about their Kāma.

When an intruder appeared, Naruto was certain that they were looking for Kawaki, after which he instructed Boruto to take Himaware and hide her while he, after being informed of the intrusion, remained with Kawaki. His conclusion was soon proven to be accurate as Delta soon joined them and asked that Kawaki be turned over to her. Naruto gave Boruto the responsibility of guarding Himawari before commencing his fight against Delta, and the two observed as the conflict intensified. Naruto and Kawaki would later jump in to save her when Delta grabbed her and used her as a hostage to force Naruto to attack her laser eyes. Himawari observed the conflict until her father triumphed over Delta’s capacity to absorb chakra, at which point she rejoiced in her success.

Uzumaki family welcomes Kawaki

Later, shortly before Jigen, Kara’s leader, invaded their house, Himawari and Hinata went shopping for dinner. To get Kawaki back, he managed to gravely hurt Naruto and Sasuke, but he was unsuccessful. Kawaki discovered an injured lone white wolf named “Nibbler” after returning from the hospital. She tried to look after him the following week by bringing him food. Kawaki eventually learned his secret and agreed to remain silent. But eventually, a bear attacked and murdered Nibbler. She was distraught and insisted that Nibbler would have survived if the wolf had received assistance from his former group. Kawaki assisted her in burying the wolf. Unknowingly, Himawari’s statements caused Kawaki to think twice about leaving.

After the Kawaki Arc, Himawari received her own anime arc where she enrolled in the Academy to find her own path, as she was still unsure whether she wanted to be a kunoichi or something else. She had numerous adventures there and met many new people, which allowed her to grow further as a character and develop her skills. She was also seen during the Code and Omnipotence Arcs, thus proving that she is alive and well in the series, despite all the troubles that appeared over the course of the story.
