Are ‘Garage Sale Mystery’ movies connected?

All Garage Sale Mystery movies are connected in terms of revolving around the same lead group of characters. However, each movie resolves its own mystery, with only minor references made to previous movies or relationships between the characters from said movies.

To explain simply, the connectivity between the episodes is similar to Agatha Christie’s Poirot series starring David Suchet. Virtually every episode has its own plot and is connected to the other only through character development of the lead roles.

The most intriguing mystery to date, Jennifer figures out that clues from a murder scene are exactly the same as the ones from an Agatha Christie novel. 10. Garage Sale Mystery: Murder Most Medieval (August 20, 2017)

garage sale mystery 10

My favorite entry in the Garage Sale Mystery series (I’m a sucker for the Middle Ages), Jen finds a cool antique suit of armor and buys it for the store. In it, however, she finds a corpse of a college history professor. Soon after, his assistant falls victim to yet another murder.

Seeing that Jenn now has the armor, is she indirectly caught in an intricate mystery that puts her in the crosshairs of the murderer? Will she solve the mystery before the macabre killer catches her as well?

11. Garage Sale Mystery: A Case of Murder (August 27, 2017)

garage sale mystery 11

This one has the most horror-ish vibes out of all the episodes. Jenn finds an old, beautiful, antique reel-to-reel recorder at a garage sale. As she checks out if it works properly by listening to the tapes that she got with it, Jenn realizes that the tapes include a recording of a man pleading and begging for his life right before being killed.

She finds out that Dr. Vedders was the owner of the recorder – and he was stabbed to death. He had issues with his wife but also worked as a psychologist with a group of patients, only to be found dead the day he retired. With Jenn’s life now in danger, she works with a detective to finally put the doctor to rest and find his murderer.

12. Garage Sale Mystery: The Pandora’s Box Murders (August 5, 2018)

garage sale mystery 12

A daughter-in-law hires Jenn to help her solve a cool puzzle box that belonged to a real estate family – the Andronicuses. However, the box soon goes missing, and members of the Andronicus family start dying, one by one, right after the box disappears. As many people had issues with the family in town, the list of suspects was as big as Jenn had ever seen.

13. Garage Sale Mystery: The Mask Murder (August 12, 2018)

garage sale mystery 13

Jenn is at a storage auction and buys a nice-looking locker. However, she gets more than she had bargained for, as there’s a body inside the locker, along with a mask of the deceased woman’s face – an identical mask. Jenn struggles to solve the mystery with Danielle as the rest of her family builds homes for the homeless.

14. Garage Sale Mystery: Picture a Murder (August 19, 2018)

A wealthy photography enthusiast was found dead in an alleged accident. Jenn buys his antique camera at an auction and develops the photos that remain inside. What she sees in one of the frames has her blown away – the death is almost certainly not accidental.

garage sale mystery 15

16. Garage Sale Mysteries: Searched & Seized (May 8, 2020)

garage sale mystery 16

The last entry of the entire saga had Jenn visit a police auction run by her good friend Miles. The auction had items that were seized at a money counterfeiting scheme. Soon after, Miles dies, and Jennifer thinks the two are somehow related. After all, Miles had a debt problem, so perhaps he got involved with the wrong crowd…

Will there be more ‘Garage Sale Mystery’ movies?

Unfortunately, there will be no more Garage Sale Mystery movies – at least not in the same lineup with Lori Loughlin and Hallmark. There was actually a 17th movie, titled Three Little Murders, already in deep production, with about a week left of filming, as confirmed by Kraig Wenman on Twitter – one of the writers and producers of the series.

However, in March 2019 – before the 16th film, Searched & Seized, aired – Hallmark Channel fired Lori Loughlin and cut all ties with the actress due to her involvement and indictment in the 2019 scandal revolving around college admissions bribery.

Loughlin, her husband, and dozens of other influential parents bribed college entrance exam administrators with up to $6 million to allow cheating on the exams, to get their children into elite colleges such as Yale, Georgetown, etc.

The 16th film was already finished, so it eventually aired about a year later, on May 8, 2020, but the 17th film was almost wrapped up and never saw the light of day. Who knows, though? Perhaps one day, Hallmark decides to finish the project altogether. Seeing that Lori is now an active actress again, perhaps there’s hope for another Garage Sale Mystery.
