Monkey D. Luffy, the protagonist of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga, is known for his many epic adventures. He is one of the best-known anime characters in history, and his adventures are known and followed worldwide. But only true One Piece fans know about Luffy’s family and his family history, which is why we have decided to compose this article to introduce you to one aspect of Luffy’s character. In this article, we will tell you about Luffy’s family, focusing specifically on the issue of whether he has a daughter in One Piece or not, i.e., we will tell you who the mysterious Monkey D. Flora is.

Monkey D. Flora is not Luffy’s daughter in One Piece. In fact, Luffy does not have a daughter in the series. He actually doesn’t have a child at all. His only known relatives are his father and grandfather. A character named Flora appeared in the One Piece Premier Show 2014, but she is not related to Luffy. Monkey D. Flora is a fan-made character who is the hypothetical daughter of Luffy and Boa Hancock in the series, but she is not canon in any way.

The rest of this article will explore Luffy’s family history and, in particular, the issue of whether he has a daughter in the world of One Piece. And while we have talked about his “brothers” and even his hypothetical sister before, we will now focus on Luffy’s supposed daughter and her existence in the series. If you’re not fully up-to-date with the events of One Piece, this article might contain some important spoilers, but we have to state that no new information will be presented here, as we will focus on old and well-known facts about the three of them.

No, Luffy does not have a daughter in One Piece – Monkey D. Flora is a fan-made character

The history of Luffy’s family, the Monkey family (yes, Monkey is their last name), is intriguing. We currently know three members of his family; each is quite powerful and on completely different sides of the story. Luffy’s biological father is Monkey D. Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army, who was never present in Luffy’s life and left his son in the care of his own father, Luffy’s grandfather Monkey D. Garp, who is working for the Marines although he has been following his exploits throughout the series.

The identity of Luffy’s biological mother is still unknown; his adoptive mother was Curly Dadan. As per Oda himself, Luffy’s mother will probably never be introduced. As for Luffy, we know that he is a Pirate. He had two “brothers,” Luffy and the late Ace, and that is about it when his family is concerned.

One Piece: Are Luffy and Rayleigh Related?

We have already discussed the theories related to him having a sister, as we have said, and we have concluded that he does not have a sister and that all the “sisters” you’ll find online are actually fan creations and are not a part of the franchise in any way. But what about a daughter? Could Luffy have a daughter in One Piece?

An often quoted name here is Monkey D. Flora, and based on her fan story as found on the One Piece Wikia, this is what is known about her:

Luffy and Hancock’s child, Monkey D. Flora, is now eight years old but is still training to be a Kuja warrior. In this episode, Luffy visits Amazon Lily, and Flora meets him for the first time.

Luffy then sails away in his boat and uses Haoshoku Haki to scare away any sea king that comes close to him.

Then a year later, Luffy suddenly disappeared from the world and Flora never sees her father again.

Nine years have passed since Flora met her father. She is now seventeen years old and a full-fledged Kuja warrior who learned all three forms of Haki. Instead of becoming a pirate on the Kuja ship, she decided to go on her own adventures. As her family and friends bid her farewell, Flora leaves Amazon Lily on a small ship pulled by a Yuda so she can cross the Calm Belt if she likes. She brings with her a dagger, a sword, a snake that turns into a bow, a quiver of arrows, and packs of food which is mostly meat. She decides to meet her father’s old acquaintances. She heads for East Blue and her first destination is Foosha Village where she will meet Makino, Woop Slap, and her great-grandfather, Garp.

A note from Fliu: To be honest, I don’t know what Oda has planned for the future and I don’t expect my fan stories to be canon with Oda’s story. As for Flora’s appearance, just think of her as a female version of Luffy. And like all the Kuja warriors, she wears a cape and she dresses in revealing clothing.

Luffy and Hancock’s child episode 2: Luffy visits Amazon Lily

Wikia user Fliu has, on his personal blog, written a piece of fan fiction related to Luffy’s hypothetical daughter with Boa Hancock, and she is called Monkey D. Flora. This is a piece of her story; from that, you can see that this has nothing to do with the One Piece franchise and that it is just a piece of fan fiction. Fan fiction is, we have to admit, always fun to read, but it has nothing to do with the main series, so we can confirm that Luffy doesn’t have a daughter and that Monkey D. Flora doesn’t even exist in the story.

A character named Flora does exist in the larger One Piece non-canon universe, as she appeared in the One Piece Premier Show 2014, but she – even in that stage play – has absolutely nothing to do with Luffy.
