Netflix’s global drama La Casa De Papel, also known as Money Heist to international viewers, will end in two days, December 3, with the final part of Season 5. But, don’t worry fans, the franchise is far from done.

Netflix officially announced a spin-off, centered on Pedro Alonso’s Andrés de Fonollosa, also known as Berlin. Berlin was a jewel thief, Professor’s older brother, and his second-in-command.

“It is a memorable moment because it is the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. Today I was talking to Jesús Colmenar and we were saying that now we walk into the unknown, open to whatever happens and without expectations. I know that these people will give the series every possible twist and turn. The responsibility (of spinning off such a popular series) can be a burden and a prison, I hope we continue to have the courage to use this wonderful energy to risk everything again.”

Despite his questionable personality, or maybe just because of that, Berlin was one of the fan-favorite characters in the show. He was killed by the police in the finale of Season 1 (Part 2), but Alonso still remained on the series afterward. Writers later revealed that they wouldn’t have killed Berlin off if they knew that the series will continue after the first season. But now, it is what it is.

Netflix confirmed that spin-off is set to arrive on the streamer in 2023.
