One Piece Main Characters (Ranked)

10. Franky

One Piece Characters: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)

The Straw Hat Pirates’ shipwright is Iron Man Franky. He is the eighth member of the crew and the seventh to arrive, having done so at the conclusion of the Post-Enies Lobby Arc.

Born “Cutty Flam,” he preferred to go by the pseudonym “Franky” until, at Iceberg’s insistence, he officially changed his name to “Franky” to conceal his identity. Franky was born in South Blue and was rejected by his relatives when he was four years old.

He finally found his way to Water 7. He became a part of Tom’s Workers there until his body was severely injured in an attack, forcing him to augment himself into a cyborg. He became the chief of the Franky Family, a tribe of ship dismantlers, after returning to Water 7.

Anything about Franky is inherently an acquired taste, as the series makes it a running joke that giant robots are not for everyone. Franky might not be the most disliked character in the series, but he also has an addictive personality, creativity, and work ethic that aren’t enough to place him high on this list.

9. Nami

One Piece Characters: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)

The Straw Hat Pirates’ navigator is Cat Burglar Nami. She is the crew’s third member, and the second to participate during the Orange Town Arc. She is Nojiko’s foster niece, having been orphaned and taken in by Bell-mère.

She used to be a part of the Arlong Pirates, and she joined the Straw Hats in order to steal them and reclaim her village from Arlong. She did, however, legitimately join the Straw Hats after they revolted against Arlong and beat him. Her ambition is to draw a map of the whole globe She’s the most astute straw hat on the block.

From the get-go of the series, she was one of the most important characters of the series. She has a key role in both getting everyone to the One Piece and generally directing everyone.

Nami is a favorite character with lots of cries, laughter, and surprises, but she loses points for being the crew’s classic nag as well as an offensive robber. She is feared by the other Straw Hats for a reason.

While this is a fun running joke, no one can argue that the crew’s insecurity is undeserved, leaving Nami, aside from her courage and glowing smile, a little unapproachable.

8. Usopp

One Piece Characters: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)

God Usopp is the Straw Hat Pirates’ sniper. He is the crew’s fourth member and the third to join, having done so at the conclusion of the Syrup Village Arc. He quit the team after the Water 7 Arc then returned at the conclusion of the Post-Enies Lobby Arc.

Yasopp and Banchina have a son named Usopp. He was born and raised in Syrup Village and is Kaya’s close friend. He is the “captain” of the Usopp Pirates. He was asked to join the crew after helping the Straw Hats beat Kuro and the Black Cat Pirates.

About his usual cowardice, Usopp aspires to be a courageous sea warrior like his dad and strives to live up to his expectations every day.

Most people will automatically think of comedic value when talking about Usopp, as a character he has so much to offer. As a character, he was shown to be a bit cowardly but all of that is usually overpowered by his compassion and unselfishness.

One could make an argument that he is the most sentimental among the Straw hat Pirates and that is backed up by his constant displays of emotion.

For a cause, Usopp was not well-liked in his own village. He was just one of those kids who was constantly vying for publicity, even though it meant jeopardizing his own reputation.

7. Jinbe

One Piece Characters: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)

“Knight of the Sea” is a fictional character. The Straw Hat Pirates’ captain is Jinbe. He is the crew’s tenth member, and the ninth to enter during the Wano Country Arc.

Jinbe is a powerful practitioner of Fish-Man Karate and a whale shark fisherman. His ambition is to realize his former captain Fisher Tiger’s dying wish for human-fisherman coexistence and equality.

He was a member of the Sun Pirates, and after the death of their first captain, Tiger, he became their second captain. He ultimately rose to become one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea but resigned during the Marineford Summit War.

Jinbe befriended Monkey D. Luffy prior to and during the battle, and two years later joined with him and his crew to deter the New Fish-Man Pirates from overthrowing the Ryugu Kingdom’s Neptune Royal Family.

Jinbe declined Luffy’s invitation to join the Straw Hat Pirates after severing relations with Big Mom during the Whole Cake Island Arc. Jinbe returned to the Straw Hats during the Wano Country Arc, publicly declaring his role as a member of the crew, after remaining behind in Totto Land to protect the Sun Pirates from Big Mom’s wrath.

Jinbei is the crew’s newcomer, and he’s still making a strong first impression. He’s a dependable warrior, and he’s used that to prove his integrity against some terrifying pirates who might make even the most ruthless Straw Hats a run for their money. His pirating history also adds to the crew’s sense of purpose, and his helmsman abilities are a valuable asset.

6. Sanji

One Piece Characters: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)

“Black Leg”, also known as  Sanji or Vinsmoke Sanji, is the Straw Hat Pirates’ chef. He is the crew’s fifth member and the fourth to participate, having done so at the conclusion of the Baratie Arc.

Sanji was raised and educated in the ways of fighting and battle from an early age (along with the rest of his siblings) as a member of the notorious Vinsmoke Family.

He, like his brothers, was given genetic modifications by his father in order to give him superhuman powers. However, Sanji’s genetic alterations were presumably neutralized as a result of his mother Sora’s ingestion of a counter-drug, stopping him from having these modifications and allowing him to be born as a natural human.

He disowned his family twice, once as an infant and again after reuniting with them as an adult. He was born as the third son and fourth child of the Vinsmoke Family (making him a prince of the Germa Kingdom).

After escaping the Vinsmokes as a teenager, he ended up in Zeff’s care as the Baratie’s sous chef, where he stayed until he met Luffy, who persuaded him to join his crew.

His ambition is to discover All Blue, the alleged chef’s paradise where East Blue, West Blue, North Blue, and South Blue intersect, as well as their wildlife. Along with Luffy, Zoro, and Jinbe, he is one of the Straw Hats’ top four warriors.

After Luffy and Jinbe, he has the third-highest bounty in the crew, Belly 330,000,000. Despite his protests, the World Government lists Vinsmoke as part of his name on his wanted poster.

He is one of the Straw Hats’ top tough guy acts and has appeared in some of the series’ finest battle scenes as part of the Monster Trio. Though his powerful legs have already earned him a place on this chart, Sanji’s suave demeanor and unparalleled knack for all things flavorful just add to his popularity.

5. Nico Robin

One Piece Characters: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)

Nico Robin, also known as the “Devil Kid” and the “Light of the Revolution,” is the Straw Hat Pirates’ archaeologist. She is the crew’s seventh member and the sixth to arrive, having done so at the conclusion of the Arabasta Arc. During the Water 7 Arc, she briefly left the crew, then returned during the Enies Lobby Arc.

At a young age, Robin ate the Hana Hana no Mi, which gave her the ability to duplicate her body parts on any surface at will. She is actually the only human in the world believed to be able to interpret and translate Poneglyphs, a talent that is banned and dangerous to the World Government. She is the only survivor of the lost West Blue island Ohara.

As “Miss All Sunday,” she served as the vice president of Baroque Works, representing and working with the organization’s president, the ex-Warlord: Crocodile, who worked under the codename “Mr. 0.” Before joining the Straw Hats, she was a secondary character in the Arabasta Saga. Her ambition is to unearth the Rio Poneglyph, which contains the true history of the universe, especially the Void Century.

Robin’s backstory is one of the most heartbreaking in the game, and an entire arc was devoted to loving her. Robin is also one of the most admired female characters in the entire series, having retained her mystery and incorporating a motherly hand.

4. Roronoa Zoro

One Piece Characters: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)

Roronoa Zoro, also known as “Pirate Hunter” Zoro, is one of the Straw Hat Pirates’ two swordsmen and one of their combatants. He is the second member of the crew and the first to participate, having done so during the Romance Dawn Arc.

Zoro is one of the Straw Hats’ four most effective fighters, alongside Luffy, Sanji, and Jinbe, as a master of Santoryu, a swordsmanship style he developed during his childhood training in Shimotsuki Village. To keep a promise he made to his deceased childhood friend Kuina, his ambition is to become the best swordsman in the world.

In addition to his notoriety as a member of the Straw Hats and a former bounty hunter, Zoro is considered as one of the “Worst Generation” of pirates.

Zoro has a strict, grim, and distant demeanor much of the time, but he often loses his cool in a goofy yet exaggerated comical manner. However, it seems that Zoro’s indignation is the only emotion for which he is happy.

He is the least likely of the Straw Hats to grin or chuckle outside of war conditions, and he hardly jokes around with the rest of the team. In reality, Zoro’s defeat at the hands of Dracule Mihawk and eventual promise to Monkey D. Luffy is the only time in the series that he has been seen weeping since his friend Kuina’s death.

Roronoa Zoro might have possibly been the edgy, brooding counterpart of One Piece’s main character. Fortunately, he has a long tradition of making people laugh and rejoice in addition to enjoying how edgy he is, proving everyone wrong. Zoro is, without a doubt, a fascinating character.

3. Brook

One Piece Characters: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)

Brook, also known as “Soul King,” is the Straw Hat Pirates’ guitarist and one of their two swordsmen. He is the crew’s ninth member and the eighth to arrive, having done so at the conclusion of the Thriller Bark Arc.

Brook consumed the Yomi Yomi no Mi, which gave him the ability to resurrect after death. Brook gradually managed to reach further into the Devil Fruit’s powers, granting him the nominal authority of his own and other people’s souls. His ambition is to meet up with an old friend, Laboon, at Reverse Mountain, where he and Crocus live.

He was a survivor of the Rumbar Pirates before dying and being rescued by the Yomi Yomi no Mi. Owing to the length of time it took his soul to find his body, it was reduced to a shell, with only his afro remaining intact. Brook spent 50 years alone in the Florian Triangle before meeting Luffy and becoming an ally of the Straw Hats during the Thriller Bark Arc before joining the crew.

Brook, like the other Straw Hat Pirates, is an enigmatic character with his own distinct style. Brook is an exceedingly upright and caring human, befitting of a true gentleman, notwithstanding his odd conduct. Brook abhors wickedness and cruelty.

On a list of likability, the musician would always have a benefit, particularly if said musician used to travel the world and entertain children. Brook’s cavalier manner, chivalry, and sheer silliness either inevitably draw people.

That may seem to be an odd mix, but the gentleman skeleton manages to make it functional. Brook’s skull jokes have been legendary in the series, his songs make the anime a must-see for any fan, and he’s still proving his worth to the crew. Brook is a clear example of a timeless character, even though his underwear joke might get a little stale.

2. Monkey D. Luffy

One Piece Characters: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)

Monkey D. Luffy, also known as “Straw Hat Luffy” or simply “Straw Hat,” is the protagonist of the One Piece manga and anime series. He is the organizer and captain of the famed and powerful Straw Hat Pirates, as well as one of their most skilled warriors.

His lifetime ambition is to discover the mythical treasure left behind by the late Gol D. Roger and become the Pirate King. Being Pirate King, he claims, entails enjoying the most independence in the world.

Luffy is the son of the Revolutionary chief Monkey D. Dragon and the grandfather of the Marine hero Monkey D. Garp, and he is one of the few people in the world who carries the Will of D. He was born in Foosha Village.

Luffy has fought a variety of global forces, beginning with the most powerful pirates in the East Blue, and has come out on top in the bulk of these fights. Luffy’s achievements and legacy have earned him the title of “Dangerous Future Element,” enraging Fleet Admiral Sakazuki, the Marine Headquarters, and even the World Government.

He also has a knack for recruiting fans, and he has been unwittingly called the group’s chief. The press has dubbed him the “Fifth Emperor of the Sea” after learning of this and his adventures against the Big Mom Pirates, but several public figures believe this is exaggerated.

Luffy’s playful nature and inquisitive nature make him a daily delight to watch. Although this can make him seem childish at times, he also has silent moments of surprising maturity and respect that demonstrate that he has plenty of souls even without the afro.

1. Tony Tony Chopper

One Piece Characters: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)

The Straw Hat Pirates’ doctor is Tony Tony Chopper, also known as “Cotton Candy Lover” Chopper. He is the crew’s sixth member and the first to participate, having done so at the conclusion of the Drum Island Arc. During the Long Ring Long Land Arc, he was briefly persuaded to pursue the Foxy Pirates but was soon returned to Luffy’s crew.

Chopper is a reindeer that eats the Hito Hito no Mi, a Devil Fruit that gives the owner the ability to turn into a human hybrid or human at will. Doctors Hiriluk and Kureha, his two maternal figures, showed him how to be a doctor when he moved to Drum Island.

Tony Chopper is the Straw Hats’ favorite doctor, with a bleeding heart that is both endearing and dependable. Apart from his syringe expertise, Chopper is a dependable combatant whose fights never seem to be underdog endeavors. His ambition is to one day become a doctor who is capable of treating every illness, and he plans to fly all over the world to achieve this goal.
