One of the things that make Star Wars video games so cool is the fact that your character can be as strong as you can make them, and that means that the Outlander should be quite strong and powerful if you can make your playable character as powerful as the lore says they should be. So, with that said, let’s learn more about the Outlander and how strong he is.

What Is an Outlander in Star Wars?

Star Wars is home to many names and nicknames that don’t necessarily exist in the real world and aren’t always used by people in reality. Of course, one of the things that we learned in Star Wars is that the Outlander nickname is often used to refer to different people in the entire storyline.

This term has been used for thousands of years, although it refers to many people throughout the storyline. Basically, the term “Outlander” often refers to someone, not from a specific planet. So, if a person moves to a planet that doesn’t often see visitors from other planets, then that person is deemed an Outlander. There are also instances wherein a person may not necessarily be from a different planet but is an outsider to a certain culture or way of life on the planet that they live on.

The Outlander term has been used to refer to many different Star Wars characters for thousands of years. However, arguably the most popular Outlander in Star Wars is the playable character in the Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Fallen Empire video game. And this is where we will learn more about the Outlander character.

Who Was The Outlander in The Old Republic?

As mentioned, Outlander is the term used to describe the main playable character of Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Fallen Empire MMORPG. That means that this character can be anyone as long as the player is the one using him. But while the Outlander may not have a specific identity, he still has a clear storyline in the lore, even if this character is part of the Legends section of Star Wars.

Star Wars The Old Republic Knights of the Fallen

Introduced as the Outlander, the game’s main character rose to prominence as one of the greatest heroes of the Galactic Republic thousands of years before the events of the Star Wars Skywalker Saga. He rose to prominence during the Galactic War and the Revanite Crisis. During the Revanite Crisis, the Outlander formed a coalition between the Republic and the Sith Empire to destroy the Order of Revan’s attempt to resurrect the former Sith Emperor Vitiate.

Of course, during the Revanite Criss, the legendary Force user Revan appeared to lead the Order of Revan. However, the Outlander eventually defeated the Order of Revan, including Revan himself. But it was through the battle that Vitiate could resurrect himself as he fed off the battle.

While the Outlander eventually intercepted Vitiate on the Ziost planet, it doesn’t stop him from destroying it. This led to the champion’s defeat and his capture at the hands of Vitiate, who brought him to the Eternal Empire.

But when Vitiate’s son Arcann assassinated his father, the spirit of Vitiate cohabitated with the Outlander. Arcann encased the Outlander in carbonite so that he could conquer the Imperial and Republic territories using his Eternal Fleet. But the Outlander was rescued by Sith Lord Lana Beniko.

Beniko helped the Outlander discover the Gravestone, which is an ancient superweapon. However, Arcann ambushed the Outlander and nearly destroyed him and his allies. The Outlander escaped and established the Alliance against Zakuul by rallying the remnants of the Empire and the Republic to his command. This is where the Outlander eventually became the legendary Alliance Commander.

Dubbed the Commander, the Outlander was empowered by Vititae’s spirit and the teachings of Jedi Grand Master Satele Shan and Dark Councilor Darth Marr to defeat Arcann in a fight. However, while Arcann was spared, the advanced AI called SCORPIO betrayed the Outlander and allowed Vaylin, the daughter of Vitiate, to become the Eternal Empress.

Vaylin tried to locate Arcann and their mother, Senya, and eventually laid siege to the planet Voss. However, the Outlander’s forces drove her own army away. Arcann was redeemed and was now seeking to atone for his sins. He eventually joined Outlander’s forces so that they could turn the public away from Valyin.

When Vaylin attacked Odessen, she was ultimately killed by the Alliance Commander in a fight. The Eternal Fleet, however, went rogue and decided to destroy all life, only for the Commander to lead the Alliance to destroy the Eternal Empire’s remnants to pacify the Eternal Fleet. However, Vitiate revealed that he guided the body of the Outlander to defeat his children, take over the Commander’s body, and rule the galaxy. But the Outlander defeated Vitiate in a clash of wills and banished the ancient emperor into the void.

With this, the Commander proclaimed a new era of peace under the Eternal Alliance. The problem was that the Republic and the Sith Empire fought for control over the Six Gods of Iokat, which were superweapons related to the Eternal Fleet and the Gravestone. That was when the Commander allied with the Republic to destroy the Six Gods.

The Order of Zildrog, however, wanted to avenge the Eternal Empire and decided to awaken Zildrog, another ancient superweapon. While the Outlander defeated the Order, the Eternal Fleet, and the Gravestone were also destroyed. Darth Malgus, however, returned to bring life back to the Sith Empire. The Sith invaded Osses and Corelia, only to get defeated by the Commander and his forces.

Nevertheless, the Eternal Alliance was weakened and had to reorganize under the Republic. Finally, the Commander joined Satele Shan and the greatest champions in history to defeat the remnants of Vitiate’s spirit.

How Powerful Is The Outlander?

Because Outlander is the playable character of the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Fallen Empire, it is too tough to determine his strength. However, we can use the video game’s events to make assumptions about just how strong the character is.

The Outlander is obviously stronger than Revan, who was no longer at the prime of his powers but was still very strong. We also saw how Outlander defeated the children of Vitiate, who is often seen as the strongest Sith Emperor of all time. As such, it is safe to say that Outlander is an incredibly powerful champion and Force user.

Satele Shan, who was the Jedi Grand Master then, said that the Outlander could be the greatest of them all, which means that he has the potential to be one of the strongest Force users of all time. And while the Outlander is incredibly powerful, there’s a good chance he is a tad weaker than Vitiate, who is still arguably the strongest Sith Emperor in history.
