If there’s one thing that we know about the upcoming Ahsoka series, it’s that there will be new Force users that are set to appear to oppose Ahsoka Tano. We don’t know how these Force users survived or where they were the entire time, but we do know that there were still Jedi who survived the Empire’s reign. Speaking of the reign of the Empire, we know in the Star Wars Jedi video game series that Cal was active during the Imperial era and was actively fighting the Empire. So, will Cal Kestis appear in Ahsoka?

It is unlikely that Cal Kestis will be in the Ahsoka series because we don’t even know whether or not he will survive the reign of the Empire. But we also know that Cal never crossed paths with Ahsoka at this point in his entire life. That makes it more unlikely that he will be in the Ahsoka series.

As popular as Cal Kestis may be, the one thing we know about him is that his storyline is his own and isn’t shared with the other Star Wars characters we’ve seen in the movies and shows. That is why it is unlikely that he will be in the Ahsoka series, which takes place almost 20 years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Now, let’s talk more about this topic in greater detail.

Cal Has Never Met Ahsoka

The upcoming Ahsoka series that will continue the story of Ahsoka Tano and the journey of the crew of the Ghost from Star Wars: Rebels will surely be one of the most-watched live-action series alongside The Mandalorian. We also know that the Ahsoka series is set to reunite Rebels’ characters and introduce new Force-sensitive users that will go up against the titular character.

In that regard, it is clear that there were still Jedi and other Force-sensitive characters that managed to survive the events of the era of the Empire. Of course, we know that Ahsoka was one of the Jedi who lived through the entire Imperial era after surviving Order 66. But there’s a good chance that one of the Jedi she is set to go up against in the Ahsoka series was also a survivor of the old Jedi Order. And we also know one more character that managed to survive Order 66 and actively fight the Empire.

We are talking about Cal Kestis, who was away from the Jedi Temple during Order 66. Cal is the main character of the Star Wars Jedi video game series that chronicles his story in the ten years that went by ever since the destruction of the Jedi Order and the rise of the Empire. That means that he was still alive during the era of the Empire and is set to have more video games that will conclude his story.

But while we know that Cal is a survivor of the destruction of the Jedi Order, one of the things that we do know about him is that he has never met Ahsoka. We know that Ahsoka is also a survivor of Order 66. But the thing is that Ahsoka saw the entirety of the Clone Wars and was 16 years old at the end of the war. Meanwhile, Cal had just started fighting on the field during the final part of the Clone Wars and was just 13 when the Jedi Order was destroyed.

As such, there was little to no opportunity for Cal and Ahsoka to meet each other. Then, during the reign of the Empire, Cal never met Ahsoka in his adventures. In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cal met other Jedi in his adventures but never actually encountered Ahsoka. And Ahsoka did a good job in keeping herself hidden from everyone because not even Merrin, who traveled all over the galaxy, didn’t meet her as she told Cal that she had never stumbled upon any other Jedi in the years that she spent traveling from one system to another.

Because Cal and Ahsoka are yet to cross paths, there is little to no reason for Cal to be in the Ahsoka series. His story is far too different compared to Ahsoka’s, and the fact that they never met each other only makes it less likely for his story to intertwine with Ahsoka’s. And this makes it difficult for us to imagine him suddenly appearing in the Ahsoka series even though he doesn’t have anything to do with Ahsoka’s own storyline.

Cal Could Die Before the Rebellion

As mentioned, almost all of the Jedi that Ahsoka stumbled upon during her journeys survived the era of the Empire. On top of that, likely, the Jedi that she is set to meet in the events of the Ahsoka series were also able to survive more than two decades of Imperial reign. But we can’t say the same about Cal Kestis.

Unlike some of the other Jedi and Force-sensitive people that survived the Empire’s reign, Cal Kestis was fighting the Empire because he was a terrorist to them. He actively worked with Saw Gerrera and his other allies to weaken the Empire during the Imperial era. That means that Cal wasn’t exactly subtle with his approach in the events of the Star Wars Jedi video games.

Taking place ten years after the dawn of the Empire and almost 20 years before the events of the Ahsoka series, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor allowed Cal to find a planet that would serve as the sanctuary for those that the Empire was persecuting. He survived the game’s events, but his story is yet to conclude, as there is a good chance that the Star Wars Jedi video game series will be a trilogy.

Because there was no mention of Cal actively fighting the Empire during the Rebellion, there’s a good chance that the next installment in Star Wars Jedi will conclude his story and will allow us to see his possible demise. While we don’t wish for Cal to die, the fact that he wasn’t in any of the Star Wars storylines during the Rebellion makes us wonder if he somehow saw his end years before the Rebellion.

Of course, there’s still a good chance that Cal has a happy ending at the end of the Star Wars Jedi video game series. One of the possible reasons why he wasn’t there during the Rebellion was that he decided to hang up his lightsaber and spend his time building a safe haven for the persecuted Force-sensitive people on a remote planet. So, even if Cal were to survive the events of the Imperial era, it is still possible that he won’t end up appearing in the Ahsoka series as he might prefer to live a more peaceful life away from the affairs of the galaxy.
