The long-awaited Star Wars series ‘Ahsoka’ finally has a release date. As we all know, Rosario Dawson debuted as the live-action version of the character in the second season of ‘The Mandalorian,’ and in December 2020, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that Ahsoka’s own spin-off series is in development.

Ahsoka debuted in the Star Wars lore with the animated movie ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars‘ in 2008, and she also appeared in the homonymous TV series that premiered later that year and aired for six seasons until 2014. The seventh and final season was subsequently produced by Disney+ in 2020.

Ahsoka was depicted in ‘The Clone Wars’ as a 14-year-old Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker. She also appeared in the sequel series ‘Star Wars Rebels’ and the miniseries ‘Tales of the Jedi.’ In all of her animated appearances, she was voiced by Ashley Eckstein, and Rosario Dawson debuted as the live-action version of the character in ‘The Mandalorian’ Chapter 13, and she also reprised the role in the sixth episode of ‘The Book of Boba Fett.’

The next Star Wars live-action series finally has a premiere date!

Disney+ officially confirmed that Ahsoka will premiere on the streamer on August 23, 2023. The series is set after the fall of the Empire, and it will follow the title Jedi Knight as she’s investigating an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. With the release date announcement, Disney+ also revealed a new official TV spot, which you can check down below:

After the initial announcement at Disney’s Investor Day in December 2020, we didn’t hear much about the upcoming spin-off series before the most recent Star Wars Celebration event, which took place in London, UK, last April. At the event, Lucasfilm presented the first official trailer and poster and revealed that the series would premiere in August this year, and now we finally have the exact premiere date.
