With each passing year, the number of BET originals just keeps going up! BET Plus is a platform that celebrates differences, and its main focus is to show the African American experience, which comes through many different stories.

Now that the summer is upon us, it’s time to review the new content arriving on this amazing platform. As we’ve mentioned before, BET Plus tends to include its original shows and movies in its yearly rotation, and so far, the users are satisfied. Each month BET Plus presents us with an overview of new content arriving on the platform. Having said that, let’s take a look at all the new movies & shows on BET Plus arriving in September.

1. ‘Killer Bees’ (September 1)

Even though there are two horror thriller films under the same name, we’re not talking about them. We’re talking about an American documentary film directed by Benjamin Cummings and Orson Cummings, with production by Shaquille O’Neal, Glenn Fuhrman, and Larry Gagosian. The documentary follows the Bridgehampton School boys basketball team, known as the Killer Bees, during the 2015-2016 season and highlights the problems with racism, income inequality, and gentrification.

2. ‘The Breakfast Club’ S1 (September 3)

DJ Envy’s and Charlamagne’s hit show ‘The Breakfast Club’ was often described as the world’s most dangerous morning show, and many fans were sad to see it go originally. Well, those fans are in luck because the show will be available on BET+ so you can catch up on the current affairs regarding politics, culture issues, events, gossip, music, and many more with DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, and rotating guests.

3. ‘Crossed the Line’ (September 7)

‘Crossed the Line’ follows a young woman who stands her ground against a local criminal kingpin aiming to take over her late mother’s flower ship for drug trafficking purposes. When he pushes too far, she and her siblings take on the quest for revenge. The movie was directed by Dennis Conrad and stars Ice-T, Caryn Ward and La’Myia Good.

4. ‘Love & Hip Hop: New York’ S7, S8 (September 7)

‘Love & Hip Hop: New York’ is a reality TV series that follows the lives of women working in the male-dominated hip-hop industry. The initial seasons focus on four women’s personal and professional challenges, including girlfriends of famous rappers and aspiring recording artists. As the series progressed, it introduced talent managers, producers, DJs, radio personalities, stylists, video vixens, glamour models, and groupies, all trying to find their roles in the industry.

5. ‘Tyler Perry’s Sistas’ S6A (September 7)

‘Sistas’ is a “dramedy” by Tyler Perry that follows the lives of four single women in their 30s in present-day Atlanta. Andi, a newly hired attorney, faces relationship complications when she becomes involved with a married man and relies on her best friends Danni, Sabrina, and Karen for support. Each of the girls brings a unique personality and perspective to the challenges of finding love and being an adult.

6. ‘Boy Genius’ (September 14)

‘Boy Genius’ follows a 12-year-old Emmet who uses his extraordinary observational skills and intelligence to solve a current crime and, at the same time, save his family from splitting up. The movie stars Zach Gilford, Rita Wilson, and Tracie Thoms.

7. ‘Young Dylan’ S1-S3 (September 14)

9. ‘Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy Part One’ (September 21)

‘Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy Part One’ is a BET+ original movie set to arrive on the platform in September. The story revolves around Lance, a successful Atlanta businessman recognized for his work on the city’s 911 system and his reputation as a womanizer.

When Lance is found dead in his own home, the mystery surrounding his death leads to numerous theories and suspicions about who might have wanted him dead. Jaira Thomas directs the film, featuring Taye Diggs, Keesha Sharp, and Rob Brown in starring roles.

10. ‘Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy Part One’ (September 28)
